Job Description

A Registered Nurse (RN) plays a pivotal role in the healthcare system, providing comprehensive care to patients and acting as a crucial link between patients, their families, and the healthcare team. RNs are responsible for assessing patient health problems and needs, developing and implementing nursing care plans, and maintaining medical records. They provide compassionate direct care and are critical thinkers in both emergency situations and the day-to-day management of patient care. They are employed in a variety of settings, including hospitals, clinics, schools, and private homes. Registered Nurses must also keep abreast of healthcare regulations, technology, and treatment protocols to deliver best-in-class health services.


Responsibilities

  • Assess and identify patient health problems through comprehensive nursing assessments.
  • Develop and implement personalized patient care plans in coordination with healthcare team members.
  • Administer medications and treatments to patients, maintaining accurate and detailed records.
  • Monitor, assess, and document patient progress, adjusting care plans as needed.
  • Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment plans, and self-care techniques.
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare providers to optimize patient care.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality while handling medical records according to healthcare regulations.
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations with competence and calm demeanor to stabilize patients.
  • Advocate for patient needs and rights throughout the healthcare delivery process.
  • Supervise and train support staff, including nursing aides and orderlies, as required.
  • Ensure compliance with established nursing protocols, guidelines, and standards of practice.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance nursing knowledge and competencies.

Requirements

  • Valid nursing license and registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a related field from an accredited institution preferred.
  • Proven clinical experience in relevant healthcare settings such as hospitals or clinics.
  • Strong basic life support (BLS) and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certifications required.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare team members.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving abilities for patient care scenarios.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and other healthcare-related technologies.
