Job Description

The Radiology Technologist plays a crucial role in the medical imaging department, utilizing specialized equipment to capture images of patient bodies for diagnostic purposes. This vital position is responsible for preparing patients, operating radiographic equipment, and ensuring that images meet the physician's requirements for diagnosis. Radiology Technologists must adhere to strict safety protocols to prevent unnecessary exposure to radiation and maintain accurate records of each imaging session. They work closely with a team of healthcare professionals, including radiologists and physicians, to provide optimal patient care. Effective communication skills are essential to instruct and reassure patients throughout the imaging process. Responsibilities

  • Operate complex radiologic equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Prepare patients for radiological procedures by explaining the process clearly.

  • Ensure strict adherence to radiation safety protocols to protect patients and staff.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all imaging procedures conducted.
  • Collaborate with radiologists to interpret imaging results for patient diagnosis.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of radiology equipment and examination rooms.
  • Assist in managing patient appointments and maintain efficient workflow in the department.
  • Conduct quality control tests to ensure proper functioning of radiology equipment.
  • Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients during imaging procedures.
  • Stay updated on advancements in radiologic technology and new imaging techniques.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or higher in Radiologic Technology or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of radiologic equipment operation and image capturing techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective patient interaction and teamwork.
  • Ability to follow precise safety measures to minimize radiation exposure risk.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to assess image quality meticulously.
  • Familiarity with medical record-keeping software and patient data management systems.
