Job Description

The Radiology Technician (MRI) is responsible for performing MRI examinations and providing high-quality images for diagnostic purposes, while ensuring patient safety and comfort, adhering to organizational and regulatory standards. The technician will collaborate closely with radiologists to interpret the images obtained and provide comprehensive patient care. This role demands precision and a strong understanding of MRI technologies and protocols, ensuring the best possible outcomes in patient diagnostics. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and possesses excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, healthcare professionals, and team members. As part of a dynamic medical team, the Radiology Technician plays a critical role in the accurate diagnosis and treatment planning for patients.


Responsibilities

  • Operate MRI equipment accurately following established guidelines and procedures.
  • Ensure patient understanding and safety by effectively explaining the MRI process.
  • Position patients properly to achieve optimal imaging results during MRI scans.
  • Maintain detailed and organized patient records for accurate diagnosis and treatment.
  • Collaborate with radiologists to review and interpret MRI images effectively.
  • Adhere to safety standards to protect patients and staff from radiation exposure.
  • Assist in the assessment and management of MRI equipment functionality and maintenance.
  • Keep abreast of advancements in MRI technology and innovative imaging techniques.
  • Coordinate with healthcare team members to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Deliver compassionate patient care, addressing concerns and answering questions.
  • Monitor patients during procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times.
  • Implement protocols for infection control and maintain equipment cleanliness.


Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program recognized by ARRT.
  • Valid certification as a Radiology Technician (RT) with MRI specialization.
  • Proven experience in operating MRI equipment with precision and care.
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, medical terminology, and radiation safety.
  • Excellent communication skills, especially in patient interaction and support.
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation.
