QA QC Civil Engineer (225-707)

As a QA QC Civil Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of civil engineering projects. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee all aspects of quality control and quality assurance processes within construction projects, ensuring that they meet or exceed both regulatory and client standards. You will work closely with project managers, contractors, and other engineers to review project plans, monitor construction activities, and conduct inspections and tests. Your expertise will help identify potential quality and safety risks, and you will implement corrective actions to address these effectively. You will be an integral part of delivering successful projects that meet specifications and are completed on time, within budget, and of the highest quality.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement quality management plans, processes, and systems from project initiation.
• Coordinate with project managers and contractors to align QA/QC protocols with project goals.
• Conduct routine inspections and tests on materials and workmanship to ensure project specifications are met.
• Identify any non-conformance issues and devise remedial actions to maintain quality standards.
• Keep detailed records of inspections, tests, and key quality metrics for reporting purposes.
• Lead and facilitate quality assessments to identify product and process improvements opportunities.
• Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on quality assurance activities and findings.
• Review and interpret building codes, standards, and project specifications for compliance assurance.
• Collaborate in the development of training material and programs for contractors and team members on QA QC processes.
• Ensure that processes and procedures adhere to best practices outlined within the industry appropriately.
• Report regularly to senior management regarding determined efficiencies and deficiencies within QA/QC processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification in a related field.
• Proven experience of at least 5 years in a QA QC role within civil engineering projects.
• Thorough understanding of quality assurance and quality control principles and practices.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems efficiently.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work in teamwork-oriented environments.
• Knowledge of civil engineering software tools and an aptitude for computer-based solutions.
• Familiarity with safety and environmental standards related to construction projects.
