Job Description

Summary

As a Product Designer (Airline) in the Product Team, you will be responsible for the UX and UI design for all digital products that are provided by the Common Airline Platform. In your role, you will define the User Journeys that need to be supported in the digital products. Subsequently, you will use these User Journeys to review and improve the existing UI and/or define adequate new UI and style guides.

You have previously worked in the airline or travel domain and have a good understanding of the expectations of personas in this space. You will closely collaborate with Product Managers and Airline Customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the UI/UX aspects of product development from ideation to delivery.
  • Work closely with Product Managers, Developers, QA, and Operations to ensure designs are technically feasible and aligned with business needs.
  • Conduct user research and define personas, storyboards, and journeys that reflect real-world expectations of airline and travel users.
  • Translate user insights into effective wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs using tools like Figma and Adobe XD.
  • Maintain and evolve our design system built in PrimeReact, ensuring consistency and scalability.
  • Collaborate with developers for smooth handoffs and provide necessary support during implementation in React-based environments.
  • Review final outputs and ensure the delivered product meets design expectations.
  • Contribute to team learning by sharing design practices, airline domain insights, and feedback.



Skills and Competencies

  • 4+ years of experience in UI/UX design for digital applications or platforms.
  • At least 1 year of experience in the airline and/or travel industry.
  • Proficient with Figma, Adobe XD, and other relevant modern design tools.
  • Strong understanding of component libraries and working with dev handoff in React-based systems.
  • Solid grasp of web and mobile development processes.
  • Familiarity with design systems and how to maintain them.
  • Understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies (Scrum).
  • Experience using tools like JIRA or other product management platforms.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to align diverse teams toward common goals.
