Job Description

We are looking for a Payroll Specialist who will be responsible for managing and processing payroll activities for our organization. Your attention to detail, knowledge of payroll regulations, and accuracy in processing employee compensation will ensure timely and compliant payroll operations, contributing to employee satisfaction and smooth financial management.


Responsibilities

  • collect and review employee timesheets, attendance records, and other relevant data for accurate payroll calculations.
  • Process payroll using payroll software, ensuring accuracy in calculations, deductions, and tax withholdings.
  • Stay updated on federal, state, and local payroll regulations to ensure accurate compliance with tax laws, labor codes, and employment standards.
  • Process payroll in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Receive approval from upper management for payments when needed
  • Process employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement contributions, and other voluntary deductions.
  • Ensure accurate benefits calculations and deductions in compliance with benefit plans.
  • Prepare and execute pay orders through an electronic system or distribute paychecks
  • Administer statements of payment to personnel either electronically or on paper
  • Process taxes and payment of employee benefits
  • Keep track of hourly rates, wages, compensation benefit rates, new hire information etc.
  • Address issues and questions regarding payroll from employees and superiors
  • Prepare reports for upper management, finance department etc.


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar certification is advantageous.
  • Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role, with a strong understanding of payroll processing and compliance.
  • Knowledge of payroll software and systems for accurate calculations and deductions.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills for payroll reconciliation and reporting.
  • Effective communication skills to address employee inquiries and communicate with relevant stakeholders.
  • Ethical conduct and professionalism in handling sensitive payroll data.
  • Ability to work with confidential information and maintain data security.
  • Problem-solving abilities to address discrepancies and payroll-related challenges.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and payroll software.
  • Adaptability to changing payroll regulations and software updates.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of additional languages is advantageous.
