Job Description

The MEP Project Manager is a pivotal role within the construction and engineering sector, specifically focusing on the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) components of a construction project. This role demands an expert who can oversee construction projects from the planning phase through to completion, ensuring that the MEP elements are effectively integrated, delivered on time, and within budget. The MEP Project Manager collaborates with architects, contractors, and clients to ensure the project's MEP specifications are met accurately and efficiently. With a keen eye for detail and exceptional project management skills, the MEP Project Manager ensures that all safety standards, codes, and regulations are adhered to while maintaining project timelines and quality benchmarks.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of MEP components of construction projects.
  • Coordinate with engineers, architects, and stakeholders to ensure MEP specifications align.
  • Develop project schedules and budgets specific to MEP project components delivery.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, making adjustments as necessary to stay on track.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with construction teams to resolve any issues related to MEP installations.
  • Conduct regular site visits to oversee MEP installations and ensure quality control.
  • Manage subcontractors and vendors relating to MEP systems and materials.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to the project team regarding MEP systems.
  • Prepare and present project reports to stakeholders, highlighting progress and challenges.
  • Utilize project management tools to maintain project documentation and records efficiently.
  • Liaise with procurement teams to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing MEP projects in a construction setting.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, building design, and construction processes.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools for effective project tracking.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills to manage diverse project teams effectively.
  • In-depth knowledge of codes, standards, and safety regulations critical to MEP projects.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
