Job Description

A Medical Representative plays a crucial role in the healthcare industry by acting as a link between pharmaceutical companies and healthcare providers. They are responsible for promoting and selling their company’s products, including medicines and medical equipment, to healthcare professionals such as doctors, nurses, and pharmacists. A Medical Representative's job is not just about sales; it involves understanding the needs of the healthcare industry, communicating the benefits of products, and maintaining a strong knowledge of both the products they sell and the market demands. With strong interpersonal skills and an understanding of the scientific background of products, Medical Representatives help ensure that the most efficient and safe products reach patient care effectively.


Responsibilities

  • Proactively visit healthcare providers to promote and sell pharmaceutical products.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with medical professionals and stakeholders.
  • Organize meetings, presentations, and workshops for healthcare providers on product benefits.
  • Analyze market trends and report findings to the sales and marketing team.
  • Prepare detailed records and reports concerning customer needs and sales growth.
  • Stay informed about new developments in healthcare and pharmaceutical industries.
  • Provide competitive intelligence and product feedback to company management.
  • Achieve sales targets and outcomes for the products assigned by the company.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of medical products and advancements in the field.
  • Handle customer queries and concerns in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Participate in professional development and training workshops as required.
  • Coordinate with the internal team for the timely supply of products to clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Biology, or a related field is required.
  • Proven experience as a Medical Representative or similar sales role preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office and various sales software tools.
  • Strong understanding of the healthcare industry and patient care processes.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills are essential.
  • Ability to travel frequently and work flexible hours as needed.
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach and keen business acumen.
