Mechanical Foreman (225-1001)

The Mechanical Foreman plays a critical role in overseeing and coordinating the work of mechanics and other technicians in the repair, maintenance, and installation of mechanical systems and equipment. The position demands not only a profound understanding of mechanical systems but also strong leadership and organizational skills. The Mechanical Foreman must ensure that work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard, often bridging the gap between upper management and the technical staff. This role requires someone who is proactive in anticipating and resolving problems, enforces safety protocols, and ensures that projects are completed on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all tasks related to mechanical maintenance and repair operations.
• Schedule regular inspections and preventative maintenance to avoid equipment malfunctions.
• Ensure all mechanical work adheres to quality standards and industry regulations.
• Manage a team of mechanical technicians, providing guidance and leadership.
• Work closely with project managers to ensure timely completion of mechanical projects.
• Maintain adequate inventory of tools, equipment, and parts required for work.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols and regulations among mechanical teams.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals for accurate execution of tasks.
• Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders regarding project updates and technical advice.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of mechanical staff, providing training as necessary.
• Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
• Prepare and submit reports on project status and maintenance issues to senior management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline is preferred.
• Minimum of five years of experience in mechanical maintenance or engineering roles.
• Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a mechanical setting.
• Excellent knowledge of mechanical systems and parts, including HVAC, pumps, and motors.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities in mechanical operations.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to liaise with clients and staff.
• Relevant certifications or licenses as required by local or industry regulations.
