Job Description

MAIN OBJECTIVE OF ROLE

To act as the sole GCAA designated Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) Administrator, responsible for managing and overseeing flydubai EFB and e-enablement systems, ensuring all hardware and software meets UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) regulatory and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acts as the accountable EFB Administrator ensuring continued operational approval of the flydubai EFB System by the GCAA, while leading Flight Operations responsibility for aircraft e-enablement, enhancing safety and information flow through ground-air connectivity.
  • Manages seamless, secure, and efficient operational workflows across the EFB and e-enablement environment within Flight Operations Engineering.
  • Manages and oversees all flydubai EFB applications, in compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, including functionality, IT systems integration, and user acceptance testing.
  • Manages EFB Mobile Device Management (MDM) ensuring accurate distribution of valid and approved software and data packages.
  • Assumes full responsibility for any EFB related cyber security issues and identifies and manages all related issues in coordination with flydubai IT cyber security team, protecting critical systems and data integrity.
  • Manages all elements of EFB hardware and software configuration in collaboration with flydubai Flight Operations, Engineering, and IT departments.
  • Develops and maintains an EFB Policy & Procedures Manual, establishing an operational framework that ensures compliance and usability.
  • Manages flight deck aircraft connectivity solutions, including cyber security compliance, ensuring robust reliability.
  • Adapts the flydubai EFB and e-enablement systems accounting for changing technology, ensuring continuous improvement and future proofing of the EFB and e-enablement.
  • Conducts regular and random audits of the entire EFB and e-enablement infrastructure, ensuring compliance with regulation and best practice, and managing resolutions.
  • Manages all aircraft e-enablement ensuring integration with ground-based elements, in close liaison with Engineering and IT departments.
  • Manages e-enablement avionic hardware and aviation software, including aircraft and engine health monitoring.
  • Manages aircraft communication systems (ACARS, SATCOM, etc.), ensuring cost effective and robust methods of aircraft data communication.
  • Manages all relevant aircraft Electronic Checklists (ECL) ensuring accuracy, and compliance with operational procedures.
  • Produces budget forecasts for current EFB and e-enablement solutions as well as potential future advancements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree (3+ years)
  • Fluent in English (other languages an advantage)
  • Significant experience in the role of EFB Administrator is essential Expert EFB knowledge including the use of data distribution and MDM is essential. Previous experience in the role of EFB Administrator is essential Expert EFB knowledge including the use of data distribution and MDM is essential Extensive e-enablement management experience is essential Extensive Electronic Checklist (ECL) experience is required Knowledge of flight operations is required.
  • Knowledge of aircraft avionics, aircraft flight deck communication, and MDM are mandatory. Sound knowledge of aircraft communication systems (ACARS, SATCOM, etc.) is required.

Isr Requirements

Reads and complies with the ISR policies of the Company and diligently reports any weakness or incidents to the respective Line Manager or the Information Security team. Completes all required ISR awareness sessions and follows associated guidelines in the day-to-day business operations.
