Job Description

A Logistics Officer is pivotal in streamlining and managing the flow of goods and services within an organization. This role involves overseeing the entire logistics process, from planning to delivery, ensuring that operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. The Logistics Officer must coordinate with various departments to ensure that timelines and budgets are met while maintaining the quality and safety standards of the company. This position requires exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to handle pressure and make quick decisions. The Logistics Officer’s primary goal is to enhance business development and ensure sustainability and customer satisfaction through logistics excellence.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement logistics strategies to ensure business goals are met.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely goods delivery.
  • Oversee the shipping, warehousing, and distribution operations regularly.
  • Manage logistics personnel, staff schedules, and performance evaluations.
  • Analyze and optimize systems to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Ensure safety compliance and quality standards in all logistics operations.
  • Prepare and manage logistics budget, forecasts, and financial reports.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate operational processes.
  • Monitor transportation costs and negotiate contracts with logistics providers.
  • Identify and resolve any issues related to logistics and supply chain.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and perform audits as necessary.
  • Provide regular logistics updates and reports to senior management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management.
  • Strong knowledge of logistics processes, systems, and standard procedures.
  • Proficiency with logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
