Job Description

The Logistics Officer plays a critical role in managing and coordinating the supply chain operations of an organization. This position involves the planning, implementation, and management of efficient logistical strategies to ensure the smooth operation of supply and distribution processes. A Logistics Officer is responsible for ensuring that goods are transported and stored efficiently, accurately, and cost-effectively. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and communication skills, as well as a keen attention to detail to monitor and manage logistics operations effectively. This role requires a proactive attitude, the ability to solve problems swiftly, and proficiency in using logistics software systems. Successful Logistics Officers should have a deep understanding of supply chain management principles and practices, as well as experience working with logistics service providers, suppliers, and customers.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee the logistics operations to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Manage inventory levels and ensure that stock keeping is efficient and accurate.
  • Analyze and optimize logistical processes to enhance supply chain efficiency.
  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies to improve cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to negotiate contracts and delivery terms.
  • Use logistics software to monitor the execution of supply chain operations.
  • Ensure compliance with international and local regulations in logistics activities.
  • Supervise the work of logistics personnel to ensure all tasks are completed accurately.
  • Prepare and submit logistics reports and updates to management on a regular basis.
  • Ensure that logistics records and documentation are maintained accurately and timely.
  • Develop strong relationships with carriers to optimize transportation operations.
  • Identify and resolve conflicts within the supply chain to avoid disruptions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in logistics or supply chain management positions.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite applications is essential.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with logistics processes.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex data from various logistics sources.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration.
  • Capability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
