JOB TITLE

Legal Counsel | MAF Entertainment | Head Office

Role Summary

The Legal Counsel is responsible for providing comprehensive legal services across all business functions including managing contracts, disputes and advising on legal and regulatory matters. The role also encompasses responsibility, accountability and oversight of data privacy compliance, ensuring adherence to applicable laws, internal policies and industry best practices across all of the company’s operating countries.

ROLE PROFILE

  • Draft, review, and revise key commercial contracts (including service agreements, data privacy agreements, consultancy contracts, distribution/supply agreements, sponsorships, and confidentiality agreements) and leases to ensure operational efficiency,
  • Act as a trusted legal advisor across all business units, providing proactive, solutions-focused counsel on complex legal matters spanning commercial, regulatory, and intellectual property domains.
  • Advise on the company’s intellectual property portfolio, ensuring proper trademark use and brand protection strategies.
  • Act as the company’s Data Privacy Officer and subject matter expert on data privacy and protection, advising internal teams on lawful and ethical data processing activities across all business functions.
  • Lead and deliver ongoing privacy training, workshops, and awareness campaigns across all business units to promote a privacy-first culture.
  • Collaborate closely with MAF Holding, Legal, Information Security and Compliance teams to ensure alignment on all data protection strategies, tools, and implementations.
  • Manage relationships with supervisory authorities and act as the main point of contact for regulatory inquiries and audits related to data protection.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Law degree.
  • Minimum 5 years legal experience with at least 2-3 years of demonstrated experience in data privacy compliance.
  • Advanced knowledge of data privacy laws and regulations in the company’s operating countries.
  • Experience with data protection tools (OneTrust, Securiti.AI) is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written English skills.
