Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and professional Lead Server to join our upscale dining establishment in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. As a Lead Server, you will be responsible for overseeing the dining room operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and leading a team of servers to deliver an outstanding dining experience.

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the serving team during each shift
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness
  • Train and mentor new servers, providing guidance on service techniques and restaurant policies
  • Resolve customer complaints and address any issues that arise during service
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate food preparation and delivery
  • Manage reservations and seating arrangements to optimize dining room capacity
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings to brief staff on daily specials, events, and any changes in procedures
  • Assist in inventory management and placing orders for supplies as needed
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of menu items, specials, and wine pairings to make informed recommendations to guests
  • Ensure adherence to UAE hospitality standards and cultural norms in guest interactions

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in high-end restaurant or hospitality settings
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience in food service
  • Excellent customer service skills with a focus on creating memorable dining experiences
  • Strong leadership abilities and experience in team management
  • Effective communication skills in English; knowledge of Arabic or other languages is a plus
  • Proven problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities
  • Proficiency in POS systems and restaurant management software
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required); Bachelors degree in Hospitality Management or related field (preferred)
  • Current Food Safety Certification and Alcohol Service Certification
  • In-depth knowledge of fine dining etiquette and service standards
  • Familiarity with diverse cuisines and wine pairings
  • Understanding of UAE hospitality industry standards and cultural sensitivity
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
