Job Description

As an IT Support Engineer, you will be pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of our organization’s IT infrastructure. This role involves managing and resolving hardware and software issues, providing efficient customer support, and maintaining effective communication with other IT professionals. You will be the first point of contact for our staff and clients, tasked with troubleshooting technical problems and offering solutions. Your contributions will be critical to the daily operations, ensuring system availability and performance. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a passion for technology. You will be expected to stay current with advancements in technology and continually develop your skills to support the team effectively.


Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line support for IT-related issues via phone, email, and in person.
  • Troubleshoot software and hardware problems swiftly to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Install, configure, and maintain operating systems and software applications.
  • Conduct regular maintenance checks and updates of computer systems and networks.
  • Assist in setting up and configuring new hardware, software, and peripherals.
  • Manage user accounts and permissions in accordance with company policies.
  • Collaborate with other IT departments to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Document common support issues and create a knowledge base for end-users.
  • Help maintain network security, firewalls, and VPN connections to protect data.
  • Provide training and technical support documentation for staff and end-users.
  • Monitor system performance and perform proactive maintenance activities regularly.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of IT policy and best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in IT support or a similar role within the industry.
  • Strong knowledge of various operating systems, notably Windows and macOS.
  • Experience with network administration and understanding of basic networking concepts.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly.
  • Understanding of security protocols and best practices for IT infrastructure.
