Job Description

As an Infection Control Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring a safe and healthy environment for patients, staff, and visitors within healthcare facilities. Your primary responsibility will be to develop, implement, and evaluate infection prevention programs and protocols. You will collaborate closely with various departments to identify infection risks, provide education on infection control practices, and conduct audits to ensure compliance with health regulations. Your expertise in epidemiology and infectious diseases will be instrumental in managing outbreak investigations and developing strategies to prevent the spread of infections. With excellent communication and leadership skills, you will provide guidance and support to a dedicated team of infection control professionals.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement infection prevention policies, procedures, and protocols effectively.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with infection control standards.
  • Identify potential infection risks and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
  • Coordinate and lead infection control training programs for clinical and non-clinical staff.
  • Monitor infection trends and report findings to healthcare management regularly.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure comprehensive infection control coverage.
  • Lead investigations during infectious disease outbreaks within the healthcare facility.
  • Review and update infection control practices based on the latest guidelines and research.
  • Provide expert advice and support on infection control practices and issues.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to minimize infection risks effectively.
  • Maintain and analyze data on healthcare-associated infections for prevention strategies.
  • Advise on personal protective equipment and sterilization processes as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing, Microbiology, or related healthcare field.
  • Certification in Infection Control (CIC) is preferred or ability to obtain it promptly.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in infection prevention and control roles.
  • Strong understanding of epidemiology and infectious disease prevention principles.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Proficient in data analysis and interpretation for infection control trends.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams within the healthcare setting.
