HVAC Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed HVAC system designs in compliance with project specifications and regulations.
• Collaborate with architects and engineers to integrate HVAC systems seamlessly into building designs.
• Create accurate and clear project documentation, including schematics and technical reports.
• Conduct load calculations to determine the appropriate sizing of HVAC equipment.
• Review and analyze blueprints, specifications, and proposals to establish workable design solutions.
• Coordinate with project managers to ensure timely delivery and installation of HVAC systems.
• Evaluate new HVAC technologies and support their integration within ongoing projects.
• Perform site visits to inspect installations and ensure compliance with design specifications.
• Provide technical support and guidance to installation teams and clients as necessary.
• Continuously research and implement best practices for sustainability and energy efficiency in HVAC designs.
• Track project progress and maintain up-to-date project files and records.
• Ensure all designs comply with local, state, and federal codes and standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field.
• Proven experience, typically a minimum of 3 years, in HVAC design engineering.
• Proficiency in CAD software and HVAC design tools such as AutoCAD or Revit.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, components, and energy principles.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in technical designs.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with various project stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously within deadlines.
