Job Description

As a Health Care Assistant in the Cath Lab, you play a crucial role in supporting the efficient and safe operations of the cardiac catheterization laboratory. This position requires an individual who is compassionate and detail-oriented, with a dedication to providing high-quality patient care in a high-pressure environment. You will assist in various areas, from preparing patients for procedures to supporting the medical team during operations. A strong commitment to patient safety and comfort is essential, as well as excellent communication and organizational skills. You will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team focused on delivering exceptional cardiovascular services and improving patient outcomes.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the Cath Lab environment.
  • Prepare patients physically and emotionally for cardiac procedures.
  • Ensure all equipment is sanitized and functioning properly before use.
  • Support medical staff with patient positioning and adjustments during procedures.
  • Monitor patients’ vital signs and report any changes to the medical team promptly.
  • Assist in post-procedure care and recovery of patients in the Cath Lab.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information and procedural details.
  • Manage inventory of medical supplies and ensure timely replenishment.
  • Collaborate with nursing and technical staff to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Participate actively in team meetings and continuous learning opportunities.
  • Comply with health and safety regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Provide compassionate support and care to patients and their families.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; certification in healthcare preferred.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a Cath Lab.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; ACLS preferred.
  • Strong understanding of patient care and clinical procedures in cardiology.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including early morning or late shifts.
  • Proficient computer skills for managing patient records and documentation.
