Job Description

The Head of Financial Institutions (FI) Sales leads the FI Sales function within Treasury & Global Markets, driving revenue growth across Treasury and structured derivative solutions. This role is responsible for cultivating strategic relationships with FI counterparties to originate, structure, and execute transactions that align with the bank’s strategic objectives and risk appetite. By delivering market insights, innovative solutions, and disciplined execution, the role positions the bank as a trusted counterparty while upholding best-in-class governance standards. Additionally, the Head of FI Sales develops and leads a high-performing team, fostering collaboration across Structuring, Trading, and product partners to deliver integrated solutions.

  • Strategic Revenue Delivery
    • Deliver annual sales and profitability targets across the FI segment.
    • Originate and execute transactions in vanilla and structured products with pricing discipline and end-to-end control.
  • Client Leadership
    • Build and maintain senior-level relationships with key FI clients.
    • Act as a trusted partner by providing tailored market insights, trade ideas, and treasury solutions.
  • Product & Market Development
    • Anticipate client requirements and market/regulatory shifts; develop innovative repo, derivative, and liquidity solutions.
    • Collaborate with Structuring and Trading to diversify product revenues and expand coverage in GCC and international markets.

    • 4. Governance & Risk Management
      • Ensure all activity complies with credit, market, legal, and operational risk frameworks.
      • Lead negotiation of documentation (ISDA/CSA, GMRA, etc.) to safeguard the bank and enable new business.
    • 5. Leadership & Talent Development
      • Lead, coach, and inspire the FI Sales team; ensure clear objectives, succession, and performance discipline.
      • Foster cross-functional collaboration with Treasury & Global Markets units and other business lines.
Experience

  • 13+ years of experience in Treasury & Global Markets Sales, with leadership experience in both Institutional Sales.
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth, expanding client portfolios, and managing high-performing sales teams.
  • Deep expertise in MENA and international financial markets, with strong relationships in the FI space.

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related disciplines.
  • CFA, FRM, or relevant professional qualifications preferred.

Skills

  • Strong leadership, sales strategy, and client relationship management skills.
  • Deep knowledge of regulatory frameworks, risk management, and compliance.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills
