Job Description

The position of General Ledger Supervisor requires a motivated and detail-oriented individual who is capable of managing the general ledger functions in a fast-paced environment. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, playing a vital role in the financial health and transparency of the organization. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, possess a deep understanding of accounting principles, and have a proven track record of supervising a team effectively. You will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the general ledger team, ensuring compliance with internal controls, and supporting the financial close processes. This involves reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements, while also collaborating cross-functionally to drive process improvements and efficiencies.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations and manage tasks of the general ledger team.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings.
  • Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations for accuracy.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to protect company assets.
  • Collaborate with financial planners to maintain budget and forecast accuracy.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements and reports for management review.
  • Coordinate audits with external auditors and provide necessary support.
  • Evaluate accounting procedures and implement best practices for improvements.
  • Train and develop staff, providing guidance for career development goals.
  • Work with IT to implement and upgrade accounting systems and software.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and anomalies.
  • Oversee compliance with accounting policies and GAAP standards.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, including supervisory roles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, preferably with ERP system experience.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statement preparation.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills for team management.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional analytical and organizational abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
