Job Description

The Senior Credit Manager plays a crucial role within our financial institution, responsible for managing the credit department while overseeing the assessment and establishment of credit policies. This position entails leadership and strategic management, requiring the individual to ensure the department’s productivity meets the company's objectives related to credit risk management. A Senior Credit Manager must analyze financial data to make informed decisions on credit approvals, identifying potential risks and providing solutions to mitigate them. Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and maintaining a robust credit management process is a must. Collaboration with various departments ensures that credit management supports the organization's overall financial well-being and growth.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the credit management department effectively.
  • Develop and implement policies that ensure credit procedures are compliant with regulations.
  • Analyze credit data and financial statements to determine the risk involved in lending.
  • Prepare detailed reports on credit risk assessments for senior management review regularly.
  • Lead and mentor a team of credit analysts to improve efficiency and compliance.
  • Collaborate with sales and finance teams to align credit strategies with organizational goals.
  • Identify areas for improvement in the credit approval process and execute relevant changes.
  • Ensure timely collections of trade receivables while minimizing bad debt exposure.
  • Manage and resolve escalations concerning credit issues with key clients diplomatically.
  • Maintain and establish relationships with key stakeholders and financial partners.
  • Stay informed on industry standards and regulatory changes related to credit management.
  • Negotiate terms with large-scale clients to optimize the company’s credit portfolio.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least seven years of experience in credit management in a senior role.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial analysis, credit practices, and relevant regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent leadership skills to manage and motivate a diverse credit team.
  • Exceptional communication abilities for effective collaboration with other departments.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools used for credit management purposes.
