Job Description

The Food Production Supervisor plays a pivotal role in maintaining the quality and efficiency of food production operations within the facility. Tasked with overseeing the daily activities of production workers, this role ensures that all food items are prepared in compliance with established standards and regulations. The supervisor is responsible for coordinating the production schedule, managing employee performance, and maintaining inventory levels to meet production demands. Strong leadership skills are crucial in this position to motivate and guide a team towards achieving production goals while ensuring a safe and sanitary work environment. Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily production activities to ensure operations run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Ensure production processes comply with sanitary standards and safety regulations.
  • Supervise, coach, and mentor production team members to improve overall team performance.
  • Coordinate with supply chain management to ensure an adequate supply of raw materials.
  • Monitor equipment maintenance and ensure the machinery is operating efficiently and safely.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance production workflow and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to maintain rigorous quality control standards.
  • Prepare production schedules and manage staff assignments to meet production targets.
  • Identify bottlenecks in the production process and implement solutions to overcome them.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback for continuous improvement of staff.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of production activities for regulatory compliance and auditing purposes.
  • Manage inventory levels and ensure optimal storage and use of ingredients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Business Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in food production or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with a focus on team development.
  • Excellent understanding of food safety and quality control standards.
  • Proven ability to solve problems and enhance production processes effectively.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, for diverse teams.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams for optimal results.
  • Proficient in using production management software and inventory management systems.
