Job Description

The role of a Financial Controller is pivotal within any organization, serving as the cornerstone for financial management and strategic fiscal planning. As a Financial Controller, you will oversee the day-to-day financial operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information. Your role is crucial for maintaining compliance with financial regulations and aiding in financial forecasting and budget preparation. You will be responsible for managing a team of accountants and financial analysts, collaborating closely with senior management to drive effective fiscal strategies that align with organizational goals. The position requires analytical prowess, exceptional organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of financial legislation and reporting standards.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the company's accounting functions and financial operations.
  • Ensure accuracy in all financial reporting and accounting operations.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Develop and implement internal financial controls and policies.
  • Lead the budgeting process in conjunction with departmental budget holders.
  • Conduct financial analysis to inform strategic business decisions.
  • Monitor financial performance against planned budget and forecasts.
  • Coordinate external audits and act as the primary liaison for auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations.
  • Manage cash flow, investment strategies, and financial risk assessment.
  • Supervise and mentor finance and accounting staff effectively.
  • Collaborate with senior management to establish strategic goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required.
  • Proven experience in financial management, preferably as a Financial Controller.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards.
  • Proficient in financial software and advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills for team management.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities are essential.
  • CPA or CMA certification is highly preferred for this role.
