Job Description

The role of a Facility Manager is critical to the smooth and efficient operation of a variety of building systems and processes. This position requires a professional with a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. A Facility Manager is responsible for creating an environment that is safe, secure, and conducive to staff productivity. This includes overseeing daily operations, maintenance, and services of work facilities to ensure that they meet the needs of the organization and its employees. A proactive approach to maintenance and repairs, cost-effective management of facilities, and excellent communication with vendors and internal staff are key aspects of this role. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of facility infrastructure, project management skills, and a dedication to maintaining high standards of quality and compliance with regulations.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations and strategic management of facility spaces.
  • Coordinate and supervise maintenance and repairs to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Manage facility budgets, keeping track of expenses and forecasting for budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and building regulations at all times.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize space utilization in facilities.
  • Monitor facility operations to ensure quality service and maintenance standards.
  • Negotiate and manage vendor contracts for facility services and products.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify needed improvements and repairs.
  • Develop emergency response and preparedness plans for all facilities.
  • Keep detailed records of facility maintenance and service activities.
  • Collaborate with organizational leaders to understand facility needs and priorities.
  • Plan and execute facility projects on time, within scope, and on budget.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in facility management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Facility Manager or in a similar managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of facilities management operations and infrastructure.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team.
  • Strong analytical skills for effective facility planning and cost management.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to coordinate across departments.
  • Proficiency with facility management software and related technologies.
  • Knowledge of building regulations and facility safety standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize activities effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to facility challenges.
