Job Description

The role of an Estimator for Exhibition Interiors is crucial in ensuring that projects are both financially feasible and successful from the outset. As an Estimator, you will be working closely with design teams, project managers, and contractors to provide accurate estimates and cost analysis for exhibition interiors. This position requires a detailed-oriented individual with a keen eye for cost management and a deep understanding of materials, labor, and time needed for interior exhibition projects. You will be integral in developing budgets, forecasting project costs, and identifying potential cost-saving opportunities without compromising the quality and aesthetic value of the exhibition spaces. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, knowledge of current market pricing, and experience in using relevant estimating software tools. This is a pivotal role in delivering financially seamless projects in the dynamic and creative exhibition industry.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with design teams to understand project requirements and objectives clearly.
  • Develop comprehensive cost estimates based on project designs and client specifications.
  • Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
  • Utilize estimating software to generate accurate budgets and track ongoing project expenses.
  • Conduct market research to determine current material and labor costs effectively.
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors for quotations and project feasibility discussions.
  • Compare initial project budgets with final costs to identify cost discrepancies promptly.
  • Review project proposals and specifications to ensure they meet financial feasibility standards.
  • Prepare detailed bid proposals and tender documents for potential clients and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to value-engineering processes to optimize budget and resource allocation.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on cost estimates and project financial statuses to management.
  • Assist in negotiation stages to ensure best pricing and terms are achieved with vendors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as an estimator in the interior design or exhibition industry required.
  • Strong proficiency in using estimating software and Microsoft Office suite essential.
  • Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills with a high attention to detail necessary.
  • Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards preferred.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills for effective vendor management crucial.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines consistently required.
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams in a fast-paced environment.
