Job Description

An ELV (Extra Low Voltage) Senior Technician plays a critical role in designing, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low voltage systems utilized in various establishments such as commercial buildings, residential complexes, and industrial facilities. These systems often include security systems, fire alarms, CCTV, access controls, audio-visual devices, and telecommunications arrangements. This position requires a deep understanding of low voltage equipment and infrastructure, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues efficiently. The ELV Senior Technician is often involved in project planning and implementation and may lead a team of junior technicians, ensuring that systems are installed correctly, maintained, and adjusted as needed to meet the specific requirements of the client or organization.


Responsibilities

  • Design and implement ELV systems according to customer specifications and company standards.
  • Conduct detailed inspections and maintenance of existing ELV systems and recommend improvements.
  • Manage project layouts and ensure accurate installation of all system components.
  • Lead a team of technicians and provide technical training as necessary.
  • Oversee system integration and configuration to ensure optimal functionality and performance.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation for management review.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during all technical operations.
  • Assist in the development of budgetary allocations for system components and labor costs.
  • Responsive troubleshooting and resolution of any technical issues reported by clients.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and customize system installations accordingly.
  • Stay updated with advancements in ELV technologies and industry best practices.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for procurement of necessary system components.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an ELV Technician with advanced technical understanding.
  • Strong knowledge of design and installation of low voltage systems.
  • Able to read and interpret technical blueprints and diagrams thoroughly.
  • Capability to diagnose and resolve technical malfunctions in a timely manner.
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate with clients and internal teams.
  • Degree or certification in electrical engineering or a related discipline.
  • Willingness to adapt to new technologies and continuous learning in the field.
