Job Description

As a Dental Assistant, you play a pivotal role in ensuring that the dental clinic runs smoothly and that patients receive exceptional care. Working under the supervision of a licensed dentist, you will provide both administrative and clinical support. Your responsibilities will include preparing patients for dental procedures, maintaining patient records, scheduling appointments, and ensuring that all equipment is sterilized and ready for use. Your contribution is critical to the successful delivery of patient care and the overall efficiency of the dental office. This job requires a keen attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a compassionate approach to patient interaction.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for dental procedures by making them comfortable in the dental chair.
  • Assist the dentist during various procedures including examinations and fillings.
  • Ensure that all dental instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and organized.
  • Take and develop dental x-rays according to dentist’s instructions and plans.
  • Record key information about procedures in patient medical records accurately.
  • Provide information to patients about their scheduled treatments and oral hygiene instructions.
  • Schedule patient appointments, follow-ups, and manage the dental office calendar effectively.
  • Order and maintain inventory of dental supplies and materials regularly.
  • Help manage patient billing and insurance claim submissions efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the dental practice.
  • Assist in capturing dental impressions and models for dental analysis.
  • Support the clinic in ensuring a clean, hygienic, and welcoming environment for all patients.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification as a Dental Assistant is a plus.
  • Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant with excellent patient service skills.
  • Good understanding of dental hygiene procedures and dental equipment handling.
  • Exceptional communication skills to interact effectively with patients and dental team.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Technical proficiency in computer systems and dental management software preferred.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and display professionalism in the workplace.
