Job Description

As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the dental team by ensuring that the clinic operates smoothly and efficiently. Your role will involve both patient care and administrative duties, making it a perfect fit for someone who enjoys a variety of tasks. You will assist dentists during procedures, maintain patient records, and ensure that all necessary instruments are sterilized and prepared for use. Responsibilities

  • Assist the dentist during various dental procedures and surgeries.
  • Prepare and organize dental equipment and instruments before appointments.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays) as required by the dentist.
  • Maintain patient records by accurately documenting treatment information.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene best practices and post-operative care.
  • Ensure sterilization and timely maintenance of all dental instruments and areas.
  • Coordinate with reception for patient scheduling and appointment confirmations.
  • Provide patients with information regarding procedures and comfort them.
  • Prepare dental materials, cements, and impression trays as needed.
  • Manage inventory and order dental supplies, keeping within budget limits.
  • Follow all regulations and guidelines regarding infection control protocols.
  • Assist in the office’s administrative tasks, including filing and billing assistance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional dental training is a plus.
  • Active CPR certification and knowledge of emergency procedures.
  • Completed a recognized dental assistant program or equivalent experience.
  • Competency in using dental office software and patient management systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to educate patients effectively.
  • Strong understanding of general dentistry procedures and terminology.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
  • Courteous and professional manner with a commitment to patient care.
  • Proficiency in taking and developing dental radiographs (x-rays).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain organization.
