Job Description

A Construction Project Manager is a vital role in the construction industry, tasked with overseeing and guiding construction projects from conception through to completion. This role involves ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and extensive knowledge of the construction process. As a Construction Project Manager, you'll be the glue that holds a project together, coordinating the work of architects, engineers, and contractors, while managing logistics, decision-making, and negotiations. Your goal will be to deliver a successful project that meets the needs of stakeholders and contributes positively to the company’s bottom line.


Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed project plans in consultation with stakeholders and key team members.
  • Oversee daily construction operations ensuring compliance with safety and quality guidelines.
  • Manage project budgets, including monitoring expenses and implementing cost control measures.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and all required contractors and subcontractors.
  • Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements.
  • Ensure all project milestones are achieved in a timely fashion according to plans.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure progress aligns with plans.
  • Resolve issues that may arise during the construction process promptly and efficiently.
  • Prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders and executive management.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and health and safety requirements.
  • Manage project risks by identifying potential issues and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Liaise effectively with all teams to drive a collaborative project environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a construction project management role.
  • Excellent knowledge of construction processes, materials, and legal requirements.
  • Strong leadership skills with proven ability to manage and motivate teams.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Proven experience with project management and budgeting software tools.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, for liaising with stakeholders.
  • Professional certification such as PMP or equivalent is highly desirable.
