Job Description

As a Buyer specializing in Spare Parts, you will play a critical role in our supply chain management by procuring the necessary parts required for smooth manufacturing and maintenance operations. Your expertise in sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier relationships will ensure that our inventory levels are optimal and costs are well managed. You will work closely with various departments including logistics, engineering, and maintenance teams to anticipate and fulfill their parts requirements efficiently. A keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are essential for success in this role. Your contribution will support the company’s goals in maintaining operational excellence and improving overall productivity.


Responsibilities

  • Identify and source spare parts from suppliers to meet production and maintenance needs.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to achieve cost reductions.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key vendors and suppliers.
  • Monitor inventory levels and manage reorder points for various spare parts.
  • Coordinate with departments to ensure timely procurement and delivery of parts.
  • Analyze market trends to identify potential opportunities for cost savings.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and regulations.
  • Manage purchase orders and resolve any discrepancies with suppliers promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of transactions and supplier performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with logistics to optimize delivery schedules and minimize delays.
  • Evaluate supplier performance regularly and address issues as needed.
  • Assist in the development of strategic sourcing plans and procurement procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the spare parts industry.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of cost savings.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to make data-driven decisions.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement software is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities efficiently.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with suppliers and internal teams.
