Job Description

The Assistant Operations Manager – Transport plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective management of transport operations within a company. This role involves supporting the Operations Manager in overseeing the day-to-day transport activities, ensuring that all logistics operations run smoothly, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies and procedures. The Assistant Operations Manager is responsible for assisting in strategic planning, implementing operational policies, coordinating with the team to enhance productivity, and ensuring client satisfaction. This role demands strong leadership, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to make critical decisions swiftly. Additionally, the position requires constant communication and coordination with other departments and external partners to ensure seamless operations.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and implementing transport logistics strategies for efficiency.
  • Coordinate daily transport activities with team members to optimize productivity.
  • Monitor and evaluate transport operations to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Support Operations Manager in developing and managing departmental budgets and resources.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback for improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain records of vehicle maintenance and service schedules to ensure reliability.
  • Resolve operational issues and conflicts promptly to maintain smooth operations.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, vendors, and transport authorities.
  • Implement training programs to ensure staff are knowledgeable about transportation regulations.
  • Oversee dispatching, routing, and tracking of transport vehicles for efficiency.
  • Analyze transport data to identify inefficiencies and propose improvements.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of transport operations with business goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a logistics or transport management role.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills to support operational objectives.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and strategic decision-making capabilities.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication skills both verbally and in writing for various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in transport management systems and other relevant software tools preferred.
