Job Description

As an Assistant Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering compassionate patient care and supporting clinical staff. You will work closely with registered nurses and other healthcare professionals to provide essential services to patients. Your duties may include measuring vital signs, assisting with daily activities, and implementing care plans. You will ensure patient comfort and safety, while also maintaining a sanitary and organized environment. This role demands a balance of medical knowledge, communication skills, and empathy to effectively interact with patients and their families. Your contribution is essential in ensuring our commitment to excellent healthcare delivery and support.


Responsibilities

  • Monitor and record patients’ vital signs including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
  • Assist in patient hygiene activities such as bathing, dressing, and feeding when required.
  • Support healthcare team by preparing and maintaining patients' rooms and environments.
  • Help patients move in and out of bed or wheelchair and transport them if needed.
  • Observe patients for physical and emotional changes and report concerns to nurses.
  • Administer basic treatments such as changing dressings and applying topical medications.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping for patient care activities.
  • Maintain communication with patients' families regarding care and comfort needs.
  • Prepare and set up medical equipment for patient examinations and treatments.
  • Assist with the admission, discharge, and transfer of patients to different units.
  • Actively participate in health and safety protocols to maintain patient and staff wellbeing.
  • Adhere to all healthcare regulations and nursing standards of practice.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; nursing assistant certification preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a healthcare or hospital setting.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from a recognized body is required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate sympathetically with patients.
  • Physical capability to perform duties such as lifting patients and standing for long periods.
  • Proficient in basic computer and Microsoft Office skills for record-keeping.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
