Job Description

The Accounts Assistant is a pivotal support role within the finance department, responsible for performing a variety of accounting and administrative tasks essential to the smooth operation of the organization. This role demands comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles, a strong eye for detail, and the ability to multitask effectively. As an Accounts Assistant, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with the preparation of financial statements, and providing support during audits. You will collaborate closely with other accounting staff to ensure that financial transactions are processed accurately and efficiently, contributing to the overall financial health of the company. Responsibilities

  • Assist in the day-to-day management of accounts payable and receivable.
  • Process invoices and ensure timely payment to vendors and suppliers.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive financial records for the company.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to prepare monthly financial reports.
  • Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts for management review.
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure discrepancies are promptly addressed.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation.
  • Monitor accounts to ensure payments are current and resolved on time.
  • Enter financial data into accounting software accurately and promptly.
  • Respond to finance-related inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the accounts department with various administrative duties as needed.
  • Liaise with other departments to resolve any accounting discrepancies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as an Accounts Assistant or similar role in finance.
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational skills and great attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.
