Job Purpose

The purpose of the role of the Technical Designer is to develop accurate Revit models and drawing packages from concept to as-built stage, aligning designs with project specifications, standards, and client requirements while supporting coordination across design and technical teams. The role collaborates closely with design, MEP, structural, and specialist teams to maintain compliance with BIM standards, regulatory requirements, and project specifications. It also supports procurement and cost estimation through detailed schedules and quantities, integrates as-built and survey data to reflect real site conditions, and contributes to innovation by adopting digital tools and mentoring junior team members.

Operational Responsibilities

• Develop detailed Revit models and drawing packages in order to accurately communicate design intent, materials, and construction details for clear visualization and precise project execution.
• Implement company CAD/BIM standards in order to maintain accuracy, consistency, and quality across all drawings and models.
• Incorporate redlines, markups, and senior staff feedback to keep documentation current and support efficient project progress.
• Coordinate drawing sets with design, MEP, structural, and specialist teams for early clash detection and resolution, reducing rework and enabling seamless collaboration.
• Produce technical details, schedules, and quantity take-offs for procurement, cost estimation, and accurate material selection.
• Integrate as-built and survey data into Revit models in order to reflect current site conditions and maintain constructible, practical designs.
• Prepare authority submission packages in order to comply with regulatory requirements, secure timely approvals, and avoid project delays.
• Contribute to design coordination meetings and present updates to maintain communication, align decisions, and address issues promptly.
• Mentor junior draftsmen by sharing Revit practices and workflows in order to strengthen team capability, promote consistency, and enhance drafting quality.
• Manage Revit families, template content, and drawing files to streamline production processes and enhance efficiency.
• Maintain drawing registers and track design changes, RFIs, and change requests in order to provide accurate, transparent documentation that supports accountability.
• Support digital tool adoption and Revit-related initiatives towards optimizing workflows, improving collaboration, and driving innovation in design technology.
  
  

• Bachelors Degree, Associate Degree or Diploma level in Interior Design, Architecture or other relevant field.
• 3-5 years in materials specification, commercial interiors or fit-out projects.
• Working knowledge of commercial BOQs and interpretation within drawings.
• Working knowledge of MS Office e.g. Excel.
• Working knowledge of Revit AutoCAD, Navisworks
• Working knowledge of specification templates and submittal tracking tools.
• Working knowledge of local laws, rules and regulations, and standards.
