Job Description

A Housekeeper Assistant Supervisor plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of a facility while also assisting in managing the housekeeping staff. This position requires a blend of strong organizational skills, leadership abilities, and hands-on cleaning experience. The Assistant Supervisor supports the Housekeeping Supervisor in planning and implementing cleaning operations, ensuring that every area in the facility meets hygiene and cleanliness standards. Effective communication with staff, attention to detail, and the ability to lead and motivate a team are key to succeeding in this role. As a Housekeeper Assistant Supervisor, you are central to enhancing the guest experience by ensuring their environment is clean and inviting, fostering a positive impression of the facility.


Responsibilities

  • Assist the Housekeeping Supervisor in overseeing daily cleaning operations and staff coordination.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure all areas meet quality and hygiene standards.
  • Train new housekeeping staff on cleaning procedures and safety standards.
  • Prepare staff schedules and adjust hours to meet changing workloads and priorities.
  • Coordinate with maintenance for repairs and report malfunctioning equipment promptly.
  • Manage inventory supplies to track usage and reorder cleaning materials as needed.
  • Implement policies and protocols to improve efficiency and minimize costs in the department.
  • Resolve guest complaints related to housekeeping services in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Initiate and participate in performance evaluations for housekeeping staff members.
  • Report any damages or security issues uncovered during inspections to appropriate departments.
  • Support the team with hands-on cleaning during peak times or staff shortages.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification; relevant certification is a plus.
  • Proven experience in housekeeping or hospitality management and team leadership.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of cleaning processes and health standards.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with team and management.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple responsibilities.
  • Organizational skills to manage schedules and inventory effectively.
  • Physical stamina to assist with hands-on tasks when necessary.
