Job Description

Directed Energy Research Center are seeking a motivated Electronics Engineer to join TII and contribute to the development and implementation of a spaceborne SAR payload.

The candidate will work in HW/RF subsystem design, testing, and integration for spaceborne SAR payloads. The role involves working on the digital electronics, HW/RF chain and telemetry/control sub-systems for a radar payload.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and analysis of HW/RF subsystems for SAR payloads, including transmit/receive chain for the radar front-end
  • Perform HW/RF simulations and modeling
  • Support laboratory RF testing and measurements using network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators
  • Contribute to the integration of HW/RF components into the larger SAR system architecture
  • Assist with HW/RF system-level testing and anomaly investigations
  • Work closely with senior engineers to validate HW/RF subsystem performance through simulations and testing
  • Interpret electronic schematics, circuit diagrams, and technical drawings and select the appropriate electronic components.
  • Support the development and documentation of test procedures, data analysis reports, and HW/RF validation summaries
  • Collaborate with digital, software, AIT and systems engineers to ensure cross-domain integration of SAR payload
  • Stay informed about emerging SAR technologies and trends relevant to space applications.
  • Participate in technical reviews and design discussions related to HW/RF and SAR development.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong academic or practical experience in HW/RF engineering
  • Familiarity with key HW/RF tools and test equipment (e.g., VNA, SA, Oscilloscope, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of radar principles, especially in the context of SAR
  • Exposure to simulation tools such as CST, HFSS, Keysight ADS or ALTIUM
  • Understanding of HW/RF design principles
  • Passionate on Remote Sensing Space Programs
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Willingness to learn and grow in a high-tech, research-driven environment.
