Job Description

The role of a Typist & PR Officer is a unique combination of duties that blends the precision of document processing with the dynamic skills of public relations. This dual-role professional will be responsible for managing correspondence, efficiently handling the typing requirements, and simultaneously serving as a liaison between the company and the public. The ideal candidate will possess excellent typing skills, a keen ability to manage information flow, and a creative flair for crafting effective PR strategies. As a critical member of the team, you will ensure that the company’s messaging is clear, concise, and consistent across all platforms. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses strong interpersonal skills, and can effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously.


Responsibilities

  • Maintain and organize digital and paper records with a high level of accuracy.
  • Prepare and type correspondence, reports, and other documents as required.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for public relations inquiries and tasks.
  • Develop and implement effective public relations strategies and campaigns.
  • Coordinate and execute communication plans for internal and external audiences.
  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of press releases and media advisories.
  • Monitor media coverage, compile reports, and keep management informed of trends.
  • Organize and manage media events, press conferences, and interviews as necessary.
  • Collaborate with graphic designers to produce effective promotional materials.
  • Maintain the company’s online presence and update social media platforms regularly.
  • Assist in crisis management situations by preparing communication strategies.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key media, stakeholders, and influencers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a typist or comparable role with excellent typing skills.
  • Strong knowledge of media relations and public relations strategies.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are mandatory.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and social media management tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail required.
  • Creative thinking and ability to generate innovative PR ideas are desirable.
