Job Description
The Training Instructor for Naval Operations plays a crucial role in facilitating the development and delivery of training programs for naval personnel. Responsibilities include designing and implementing training materials, conducting classroom instruction, and providing hands-on training in areas such as navigation, ship handling, weapons systems, and naval tactics. The instructor will assess training needs, create lesson plans, and evaluate the effectiveness of training sessions. Additionally, they will work closely with subject matter experts to ensure training materials are up-to-date and relevant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in naval operations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to engage and motivate learners. Responsibilities
- Deliver training programs related to naval operations, including but not limited to navigation, communication, weaponry, and security protocols.
- Develop and update training materials, manuals, and resources to ensure relevance and accuracy.
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to monitor trainee progress and proficiency in naval operations.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure training content aligns with current naval guidelines and best practices.
- Facilitate practical exercises and simulations to enhance hands-on learning and practical skills.
- Provide feedback and coaching to trainees to support their continuous improvement and development.
- Stay updated on the latest trends, technologies, and advancements in naval operations to integrate into training programs.
- Maintain training equipment and facilities to ensure a safe and effective learning environment.
- Coordinate with supervisors and training coordinators to schedule and organize training sessions.
- Adhere to all relevant policies, regulations, and standards in the delivery of training programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Naval Science, Maritime Security, or related field required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Naval operations, including shipboard experience.
- Must have completed training programs such as Naval Leadership Development and Naval Tactics.
- Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively train and educate military personnel.
- Active duty or prior military service in the Navy preferred.
