Job Description

The Supply Chain Manager is a pivotal role that ensures the seamless flow of goods from manufacturers to consumers. This professional is responsible for overseeing and managing the entire supply chain process to enhance business development, optimize resource use, and maximize cost savings. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of logistics, inventory management, and procurement principles. Additionally, this role requires excellent leadership skills to guide and inspire a team of supply chain professionals towards achieving the company's objectives. The Supply Chain Manager works closely with vendors, shipping agencies, and internal departments to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of high-quality products. Adaptability, strategic thinking, and robust analytical skills are essential attributes needed for this position to efficiently manage the complexities involved in today’s global market.


Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic plans to improve supply chain efficiency and reduce operational costs.
  • Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and operations departments to ensure seamless workflows.
  • Manage vendor relationships to improve service level agreements and quality standards.
  • Analyze supply chain data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and safety requirements in all supply chain activities.
  • Manage inventory levels to optimize stock availability and minimize holding costs.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure advantageous terms.
  • Implement innovative technologies and processes to enhance supply chain operations.
  • Oversee the importation and exportation procedures to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Liaise with the finance department to manage budgets and financial planning for supply chain operations.
  • Train and develop supply chain staff to improve competencies and performance levels.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to mitigate disruptions in the supply chain.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in supply chain management, logistics, or a similar role.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills are essential for this role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to work with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Advanced knowledge of supply chain processes and techniques is required.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard supply chain management software and ERP systems.
