Job Description

The Senior Storekeeper plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of the warehouse or storage facility. As an experienced professional, you will be responsible for overseeing the receipt, storage, and distribution of goods, ensuring all inventory is accurately maintained and organized. Your role will involve supervising junior staff, coordinating with various departments, and optimizing storage space to facilitate seamless operations. The Senior Storekeeper must possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex logistical tasks. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining inventory quality and ensuring all materials are available for production and project needs, ultimately contributing to the company's overall operational success.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the storeroom, ensuring efficient workflow.
  • Maintain accurate records of goods received and goods issued to departments.
  • Supervise and guide junior storekeepers and warehouse staff in daily tasks.
  • Ensure proper storage conditions to maintain the quality of inventory items.
  • Conduct regular stock checks and audits to monitor inventory levels.
  • Coordinate with procurement and sales departments for timely supply delivery.
  • Develop and implement inventory management systems for optimal efficiency.
  • Identify discrepancies in inventory and implement corrective actions swiftly.
  • Optimize storage space usage to accommodate inventory needs effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the storeroom.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on inventory status and operational metrics.
  • Manage and resolve any conflicts or issues within the storekeeping team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in storekeeping or inventory management roles.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in supervising staff effectively.
  • Proficient in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with capacity to work under pressure.
  • Knowledge of inventory accounting and warehousing practices and procedures.
