Main Purpose Of The Job
Mott MacDonald require a site-based engineer to support shop drawing endorsements, material submittal review, method statement reviews, as-built drawing review, testing and commissioning review for a highrise Buildings project.
Key responsibilities and duties are listed, but not limited to, the below:
Conduct supervision of works in adherence to the contract; ensure guidelines are being adhered to for all architectural works
Make recommendations to the Resident Engineer regarding the selection and approval of sub-contractors in coordination with and through consultations with owner/client representatives
Review and project contract documents (drawings, shop drawings, specifications etc.); coordinate with Contractor and engineers prior to commencing construction activities
Notify the Project Principal of any discrepancies identified against contract documents; prepare corrective action plans to be taken
Assist in resolving any issues raised by Contractor and prepare recommendations to the Project Principal as appropriate
Review related construction materials and finishes samples submitted; ensure compliance against local legislation and technical specifications mandated by the contract
Inspect procured materials delivered to site; ensure compliance against local legislation and and specifications/contract documents/approvals
Resolve design and technical issues with the engineering team on the project.
Participate in preparing progress reports and in verifying costs related matters in order to finalize monthly payment certificates
Ensuring that responses are complete and in compliance with the contract documents. Where problems are found, work with team leader to resolve
Attends progress review meetings and co-ordination meetings to assist the Project Lead/Senior Engineer in resolving any site issues such as discrepancies in project’s drawings
Monitor Health and Safety of the construction works and report on the same. If required stop the construction works if unsafe practices are being followed.
Familiar with the necessary Engineering methodologies as well as the corresponding equipment, materials, consumables, tools and manpower allocations related to the discipline of expertise.
Candidate Specification
Bachelors’ degree in Architecture from an internationally accredited university
Experience in a similar role with prior experience of working on residential developments, namely highrise buildings schemes
Demonstrable experience and knowledge of architecture including finishes, materials inspection etc.
Continuously looking for innovations and improvements to manage workload and accomplish deliverables across individuals, teams and projects
Using leadership skills to build and nurture relationships and also creating effective working environments
Able to manage multiple teams with diverse backgrounds on geographically and culturally diverse teams
