The Sheikh Zayed Private Academy for Girls (SZPAG) is looking to appoint a laboratory technician for our Secondary team. The lab technician will support the work of teaching staff in the Science Department through preparation, maintenance and clean up for lab experiments and hands on activities.

Core Responsibilities And Expectations

• Ensure that all laboratory equipment, instruments, and tools are maintained and calibrated to meet safety and quality standards, including performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting issues as necessary.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to design and develop laboratory experiments and demonstrations that support the curriculum and promote student engagement and learning.
• Assist with the procurement and inventory of laboratory supplies and materials, including ordering and stocking items, tracking inventory levels, and monitoring expiration dates.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with advances in laboratory science and education and share knowledge and expertise with colleagues.

Position Requirements: (please only apply if you meet the below criteria)

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject
• Candidates should be knowledgeable in laboratory equipment operation and maintenance, data analysis, and report writing
• Minimum of three years’ experience in an international school or equivalent educational setting.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and chemical handling.
• Desirable experience in setting up new science facilities and compliance with ADEK policies.
