Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Safety Officer to join our team, ensuring our workplace remains safe for all employees and complies with all health and safety regulations. As a Safety Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining and evaluating health and safety standards within our organization. Your primary responsibility will be to prevent workplace accidents and promote a culture of safety, conducting regular inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards. Additionally, you will be responsible for training employees on safety procedures and policies to minimize risks and enhance their awareness. The ideal candidate will possess a strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills, enabling them to effectively convey safety practices and guidelines.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive safety policies, procedures, and guidelines for the organization.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety laws and regulations.
  • Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses to determine the root cause.
  • Prepare detailed reports on safety inspections and incident investigations.
  • Provide training and instruction to employees on safe work practices and procedures.
  • Collaboratively develop and execute emergency response and evacuation plans.
  • Monitor and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices for compliance.
  • Work closely with management and staff to promote a culture of safety awareness.
  • Lead safety committee meetings and follow up on action items addressed.
  • Ensure all safety equipment is regularly inspected and maintained in optimal condition.
  • Stay updated with new legislation and best practices in workplace safety and health.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Safety Officer or in a similar role within an industrial environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety protocols and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Strong analytical skills for conducting thorough risk assessments and incident investigations.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to guide safety initiatives confidently.
  • Certification in occupational health and safety or related field is highly preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with exceptional attention to detail.
