Job Description

A Restaurant Supervisor plays a pivotal role in maintaining high-quality customer service and ensuring smooth operations in the dining establishment. This position requires strong leadership skills to oversee staff while maintaining an inviting and efficient dining environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the restaurant's daily activities, including staffing, inventory, customer service, and adherence to health and safety regulations. They must be a problem-solver, capable of handling any operational issues that arise, and be skilled in developing strategies that enhance customer satisfaction and overall restaurant performance. Additionally, this role involves training new employees and acting as a liaison between the staff and upper management to foster a productive and harmonious workplace.


Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the restaurant to ensure seamless service.
  • Manage and mentor restaurant staff to maintain a high level of performance and morale.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing complaints and resolving issues promptly.
  • Monitor inventory levels and order supplies to prevent shortages and overstocking.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards across all restaurant areas at all times.
  • Implement and enforce health and safety protocols to protect staff and customers.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of promotional events and special occasions.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings to inform and motivate employees towards achieving restaurant goals.
  • Oversee the training and development of new and existing staff members.
  • Prepare and present weekly operational reports to senior management for review.
  • Monitor customer feedback and implement improvements to enhance dining experiences.
  • Work closely with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient food service.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working in the hospitality industry, preferably in a supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
  • Excellent customer service skills and knowledge of restaurant management software.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced restaurant environment effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for diverse audiences.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and health standards for dining establishments.
  • Flexible schedule, including availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
