Job Description
The Research Assistant will support a study on how families manage anxiety and depression in elderly Emiratis. Duties include recruiting participants, administering psychological assessments (BDI, STAI), organizing focus groups, managing data (SPSS), and translating/transcribing materials (Arabic ↔ English). The role also involves basic administrative support.
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor’s in a relevant field.
Preferred Qualification
Master’s degree and experience with elderly populations or social research
Expected Skills
The ideal candidate will have native or near-native fluency in Arabic (especially Emirati dialect) and strong English proficiency. They should demonstrate empathy, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to communicate effectively with elderly participants and their families. A solid grasp of Emirati social norms, strong organizational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office are essential. Experience with SPSS and working in a research team environment is highly desirable.
