Job Description

The QHSE Manager plays a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the quality, health, safety, and environmental standards within an organization. This position requires a highly skilled individual who can develop and implement comprehensive policies and systems that align with legal regulations and industry standards. The QHSE Manager is responsible for creating a culture of continuous improvement that ensures all operational activities are conducted in a safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible manner. This role involves close collaboration with various departments to ensure compliance and to proactively identify potential risks. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented leader with exceptional problem-solving skills and a passion for fostering a safe and compliant work environment.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain QHSE policies, processes, and guidelines for the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, national, and international regulations and standards.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential risks and areas for improvement.
  • Provide training and support to staff on QHSE standards and practices.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with department heads to integrate QHSE principles into daily operations.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of QHSE management systems and initiatives.
  • Lead the development of emergency response plans and conduct drills regularly.
  • Work with suppliers and contractors to ensure that their practices align with the company's QHSE standards.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for management on QHSE performance metrics.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, health, safety, and environment.
  • Liaise with external bodies, regulatory authorities, and stakeholders as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, environmental science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a similar QHSE management role.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of QHSE laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills to effectively implement QHSE initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for training and stakeholder engagement.
  • Proven track record in risk assessment, incident investigation, and reporting.
  • Certifications such as NEBOSH, ISO, or equivalent are highly desirable.
