Job Description

As a Procurement Engineer, you will play a critical role in sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials and parts necessary for manufacturing processes. You will work closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure that all procurement activities align with the company's cost, quality, and delivery goals. Your analytical and strategic skills will be essential as you evaluate suppliers’ performance, manage contracts, and strive for continuous improvement. You will also be responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of market trends and prices, adhering to budgetary constraints, and complying with company policies and procedures. Your ability to foster strong relationships with vendors and cross-functional teams will be vital in optimizing procurement operations and contributing to the overall success of the organization.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough market research to identify potential suppliers for sourcing.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors to secure favorable terms and conditions.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure procurement aligns with project needs.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for cost-effective purchasing.
  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure quality and timely delivery of materials.
  • Monitor inventory levels to avoid shortages and maintain production schedules.
  • Analyze market trends to make informed purchasing decisions and strategies.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate procurement documentation and reports.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and recommend necessary improvements and changes.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations in procurement.
  • Lead initiatives to reduce costs while maintaining product quality standards.
  • Perform risk management for potential supply chain disruptions and issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build vendor relationships.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with teams.
  • Proficient in using procurement software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
