A Network Engineer is a critical member of an organization's IT team responsible for designing, implementing, and managing its computer networks. These networks can include local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), intranets, and extranets. The primary objective of a Network Engineer is to ensure that these networks operate efficiently and securely, providing reliable communication channels for data, voice, and video transmissions across the organization. Responsibilities

• Design and implement functional network infrastructure according to organizational needs.
• Monitor network performance, troubleshooting issues to ensure minimum downtime.
• Configure and install network hardware such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to improve and support network systems.
• Maintain and upgrade network components to optimize performance and security.
• Document network configurations, diagrams, and procedures for ongoing and future reference.
• Develop and implement network security measures to protect against unauthorized access.
• Perform regular network performance assessments and adjust configurations as needed.
• Work with management to determine current and future network requirements.

• Manage IP allocations, maintaining efficient and organized IP schemes.
• Perform regular data backups to ensure network resilience and data availability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Network Engineer or a relevant position in networking.
• Comprehensive understanding of networking protocols and Layer 3 Network Architecture.
• Hands-on experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools.
• Proficiency in network security protocols and methods to safeguard the network.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot network issues effectively.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
