Job Description

A Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Engineer plays a crucial role in construction and building design, integrating mechanical, electrical, and plumbing solutions into the architectural and structural framework of buildings. The MEP Engineer works closely with architectural teams, construction managers, and other engineering disciplines to ensure cohesive and efficient project delivery. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, innovative problem-solving skills, and a keen understanding of building codes and regulations. The MEP Engineer is responsible for designing, analyzing, and implementing the complex systems that control the environments within buildings, ensuring they are functional, safe, and sustainable. In a rapidly evolving industry, the MEP Engineer adapts to new technologies, green building practices, and sustainable energy usage methods, striving for designs that minimize environmental impact while maximizing comfort and functionality.


Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed designs and specifications for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Coordinate with architects and other engineers to integrate MEP elements seamlessly into designs.
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight on MEP installation and maintenance activities.
  • Review and approve MEP drawings, schematics, and documentation for new projects.
  • Ensure all MEP systems meet industry best practices, codes, and sustainability standards.
  • Perform calculations for load, energy efficiency, and overall building impact analysis.
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely and budget-compliant project completion.
  • Identify potential design risks and implement corrective measures proactively.
  • Stay updated with the latest technologies and materials in the MEP field.
  • Prepare and present reports and presentations to stakeholders and clients as needed.
  • Supervise and mentor junior MEP staff and interns on technical tasks and projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in MEP design and project management.
  • Proficient in MEP design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar programs.
  • Strong knowledge of building and construction codes and regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for stakeholder interaction.
