MEP Engineer (225-612)

An MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within a building. These engineers are integral to the development and operation of commercial, residential, and industrial structures. They collaborate with architects, construction teams, and other engineering specialists to ensure that projects are completed efficiently, safely, and within all regulatory standards. MEP Engineers must have a strong understanding of all systems they manage and the ability to integrate them seamlessly to optimize performance and energy efficiency. Being meticulous, innovative, and possessing robust problem-solving skills are essential qualities for success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for new buildings and renovation projects.
• Collaborate with architects and construction teams to develop efficient building systems.
• Conduct site inspections and monitor the installation of MEP systems for quality assurance.
• Ensure all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes comply with local regulations.
• Coordinate with project managers and clients to meet project objectives and deadlines.
• Create and manage project documentation including specifications, blueprints, and schedules.
• Analyze system requirements and develop efficient and cost-effective solutions.
• Utilize CAD and other software for the detailed designing of building systems.
• Manage a team of engineers and technicians to implement project plans effectively.
• Evaluate and implement energy-saving measures while maintaining building efficiency.
• Perform troubleshooting and resolve issues related to MEP systems in a timely manner.
• Stay updated with the latest technology and industry developments to apply innovative approaches.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience as an MEP Engineer or similar role in the construction industry.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant engineering software for design purposes.
• Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and best practices in MEP disciplines.
• Excellent project management skills and ability to work within tight deadlines.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills with attention to detail and focus on quality.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred but not always required.
